It’s been a minute since I’ve posted something here. Actually spoke from my heart about things that are concerning me. Well, after the past few weeks it’s time I done so. (yes, done so.)
My journey has been and interesting one to say the least. I often say that “I wasn’t born female, but I got there as soon as I could.” and as a female I am so incredibly proud to be called part of this sisterhood. I am so outrageously grateful for “THIS” and all that it means. With that in mind, I fight for my sisters. I speak out for my sisters both cisgender and transgender as we navagate through a world that is patriarchal, misogynistic and hostile to the feminin spirit. Not only hostile but increasingly aggressive towards that spirit.
This is unacceptable. It’s not about weather abortion is moral or not. Morality is subjective, conditional and should not be legislated. What should be legislated are the protections to make informed choices about your body along with a DOCTOR, your contraceptive choices and your health. Why in the world is some white man who is, last I checked not a doctor, nor your parent be legislating how you live your life? Why is a person who doesn’t even have a uterus nor a medical degree telling you that you need a medically unnecessary and invasive proceedure (ultrasounds) in order to condesendingly prove to you that it’s a child. Who do they think they are to play your father and tell you that regardless of how a conception occured that you should be forced to go through with the pregnancy? It’s YOUR body.

This out and out assault on women’s reproductive rights, the right to affordable women’s health care and the basic dignity of women is the grossest form of sexism. It is just another way that the White Patriarchy is imposing limitations on women. As the wage disparities between men and women diminish (all too slowly mind you), they seek to find a way to “check” those they deem “the weaker sex”. It is an appalling and egregious attack on women, and most importantly on our freedoms and increasing equality.
Wisconsin Republicans, Scott Walker and Republicans Across the country that support and actively pursue this type of attack, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.
This is deplorable behavior and the constituency should be heard loud and clear in EVERY local and national election from hence forth.
The elections that happen in this country both during Presidential Election years are of greater impact because they impact your communities and your states. Those elections are even more vital to this country than Presidential. Forget about trickle down. Let’s act in “Trickle UP Politics”. Let your local and state politicians know that you’re not going to take it and if they don’t listen to you that they WILL be fired!
